STORY HIGHLIGHTS

  • Being a people-centric organisation is more than prioritising employees in the workplace; it's about empowering them to succeed in both their personal and professional lives.
  • Our People Centricity Manifesto© highlights eight mandates for people-centric leaders to thrive in the new world of work.

This is the third of a three-part series of articles on “The Path to Becoming a People-Centric Organisation.” Read the first and second articles.

A new people-centric mandate for the next decade

Only people-centric organisations will survive and thrive in the new world of work. In our previous article, we introduced the People Centricity Framework©, describing six levers organisations must consider holistically to become people-centric. This article is our manifesto, highlighting eight mandates for people-centric leaders to thrive in the new world of work.

Mandate #1 — We will stay true to our purpose, mission, and values

We will deliver fulfilling work experiences aligned with our organisation’s purpose, mission, and values.

Mandate #2 — We will listen to what our people think

We will understand what our people expect from their work experience to get actionable insights into our People Expectations strategy.

Mandate #3 — We will listen to how our people feel

We will understand how our people experience working with our organisation to get actionable insights into our People Experience strategy.

Mandate #4 — We will listen to how our people do

We will understand how our people enjoy fulfillment from their work experience to get actionable insights into our People Success strategy.

Mandate #5 — We will architect future-fit work value propositions

We will architect a work value proposition that attracts new talent and reengages existing ones. If we are successful, we will attract, engage, and keep a future-fit workforce.

Mandate #6 — We will architect future-fit leaders

We will architect a culture where our leaders inspire our talent, community, and society. If we are successful, we will build a future-fit leadership.

Mandate #7 — We will architect future-fit work experiences

We will architect a work experience that fulfills our talent and enable them to succeed in the new world of work. If we are successful, we build a future-fit work experience.

Mandate #8 — We will walk the talk

We will deliver against our promises to our workforce, our stakeholders, and our society.

What’s next?

While the world does not need another article on the over-discussed “Great Resignation”, I cannot resist throwing in an additional perspective. I will do my best to enlighten your summer readings with our next series, Myth & Truth about the Great Resignation.
